Reliving the Launch of Volume 6

On a balmy spring evening in early May, Knoxville’s Scouted small businesses, friends, and family gathered at Candoro Marble Arts & Heritage Center to celebrate the launch of The Scout Guide Knoxville Volume 6. Our lovely photographer, Abigail Malone, graciously captured our evening, which we invite you to relive with us – complete with all the details and vendors…

Candoro Marble Arts & Heritage Center, in all its historic and marbled beauty, served as the perfect venue to host Volume 6’s Members, as well as friends and family of The Scout Guide Knoxville. Its elegant interiors and exteriors channeled the refined garden party vibes Editor Frances King hoped to evoke, and its indoor and outdoor options allowed guests to mix and mingle at their leisure.

To set the tone of the evening, flower carts boasting the new Volume and guides from favorite Scouted destinations flanked the entryway. Overflowing with Scout Guides and florals, the carts were an inspired take on the quintessential Book Bar many Scout Guide Editors feature at their launch parties. Guests were invited to collect a few Guides – in TSG totes, of course – and enjoy a glass of champagne on their way into the party.

Glass in hand, guests toured the Candor Marble company, stopping for a delightful 360-degree selfie experience courtesy of Revolve Knox before making their way to the heart of the party in the courtyard. There, guests were greeted by a string trio from Knoxville Symphony and a beautiful lounge provided by All Occasion Party Rentals.

In the courtyard, guests found a full bar stocked with liquor + wine from Bob’s Wine and beer from Blackberry Farms Brewery. With drinks refreshed, guests toasted to Volume 6 and enjoyed the contributions of many of their fellow members. Graphic Creations, for example, created a larger-than-life version of Volume 6 which, when adorned with florals by Wither & Bloom Designs, functioned as the perfect photo op.

In addition to a full bar and delightful spring fare – more on that shortly – guests were treated to a special hand-lettered guide from Brittany Ivey. While they watched Brittany deploy her calligraphy magic, guests enjoyed the custom corn hole set created for TSG by Graphic Creations and enjoyed their first peek at their Volume 6 spreads.

For light bites, By The Tracks Catering developed a delightful spring menu of passed appetizers, including Basil Deviled Eggs, Gazpacho Shooters, Spring Vegetable Puff Pastry, Citrus Marinated Shrimp, Roasted Veggies on Rosemary Focaccia with Herbed Ricotta + Balsamic Glaze, Goat Cheese Crostini Topped with Peach and Benton’s Ham, as well as cheese and charcuterie. Flowers continued to reign supreme with Little Mountain Flower Farm edible blooms adorning the Gazpacho Shooters and Grizzly Bear Baking Co. Cookies.

As the evening waned, guests were invited to grab a box of books, in one of Crown Motor’s delightful vintage vehicles, no less. In short, it was a magical evening – the perfect way to re-introduce The Scout Guide to Knoxville and celebrate the business owners who make our community so special.

We could not have enjoyed such a fabulous evening without the help of our many local vendors. From Wither & Bloom Designs truly magical florals to MW Events set up and coordination, By The Tracks Catering’s delicious menu to Graphic Creations’ perfect custom elements, our local vendors were a dream to work with. Each contributor has been credited in bold throughout the article, and we could not recommend each of them more for your next event. Just don’t forget to tell them Scout sent you!
